By its geographical characteristics, the Valley of the river Magro was never a homogeneous nature trail in its entirety. That heterogeneity is what explains the made of that, despite being a river relatively short, has received many names in times historical: River Juanes, lean, Oleana (in the basin upper in times Arab) Alcalá and Rambla of Algemesí. The name rambla, although it refers mainly to the lower basin, says its torrential character.

Which has been identified to a same river with different names is due to the middle course consists of an inaccessible Gorge and has never been a means of communication normally used, which has made that the geographic division become it, at least figuratively, on several rivers with IDs other than local or regional level. Instead, both the course top as the bottom have been the routes natural from North to South from makes thousands of years. In fact, the broad Valley where the towns of Requena and Utiel, constituting a well-defined region, constituted a path used long, North to South, as East-West in both.


The river Magro, is a valuable reserve of life for a delicate and important ornithological diversity. You can see birds that arrive even to nest, as it is the case of the deep-blue Mallard and redfish. There are other birds that are leave see in migration as the Garza Real, the Jack, the Sandpiper large and the boy or even the Martin fisherman. Other birds, as the Washerwoman white and the grey wagtail tend to feed is of their banks as well as the Pipit Alpine, that only is presents in the lean during the period winter.


In addition to a vegetation characteristic of them means water can find eneas and promptly some carrizo. As representative trees appear poplars, less common, can also see ash trees of small-leaved poplars white and nogales.


Km. 0. The route starts next to the roundabout that accesses the road N-322. Leaving the roundabout take the old road from pontoon to Requena, which runs parallel to the road, and continue until you reach the athletics track. Once there continue along the paved road until you reach the bed of the river Magro.

Km 1´40. At this point turn right to take the dirt road that runs parallel along the left bank of the river. Continue until you reach the crossing with a farm road, which crosses the river by a concrete bridge, and continue along the path next to the River until you reach a small dam which serves to retain the runway.

Km 2´70. From the diversion dam, we continue along the path, always parallel to the River, to lead to the junction with a new dirt road running through it. We crossed and we continue walking along the River until you reach a Grove most populated area where the path deviates from our right until you reach the junction with a dirt track. At this point continue the left and 200 metres we find the source of Santa Catalina.

5.20 km from la Fuente Santa Catalina back along the same path to the previous crossroads and continue straight until you reach a crossroads with a pole that is indicative of the path. From this point, if we want to visit the home of Santa Catalina, we left the trail and follow it was left. Once home we returned to the crossroads and continue straight along the way agricultural up to the Fuencaliente.

Km 7´60. The trail, which is beginning to flow between some houses, to supply flowers we continue from Fuencaliente.

Km 9. From the source, continue on the left following the indication of the path until you reach a small raft that are used for the irrigation of the orchards. From here we continue until the crossing with an asphalt road, here we will turn to our left and continue our journey.

Km 10.80. At this point we begin to enter in Requena, and without abandoning the road come to an underpass allowing us to cross the road N-III. Once we have crossed continue along our right parallel to the aforementioned road until you reach the roundabout where our tour ends.
